About these terms
Can Do Kids Academy is run by me, Lisa Carter (ABN 31 581 236 206), a primary school teacher based in New South Wales, Australia. In these terms, “I”, “me” and “my” means me and Can Do Kids Academy, and “you” means anyone who visits this website, downloads a free resource or buys a resource.
By using this website, downloading a resource or placing an order, you agree to these terms, my Privacy Policy and my Disclaimer. If you have any questions, please email me at candokidstutoring@gmail.com.
Using my resources
I have spent many years creating these resources, and selling them is how I keep making new ones. When you download a resource, free or paid, you are buying or receiving a licence to use it, not ownership of it. Copyright stays with me. Thank you for respecting the time and care that goes into each one.
Individual licence (one teacher)
A standard purchase or free download is for one teacher. You may:
- use the resource with your own students, in your own classes, for as long as you like
- print and photocopy it as many times as you need for your own students
- display it on a screen or interactive whiteboard in your own classroom
- share it digitally with your own students through a private, password-protected class space (for example Google Classroom, Seesaw or Microsoft Teams), as long as it is only available to your students
- adapt the editable PowerPoint versions for your own classes
- use it with students you tutor or with your own children at home
School licences
Some resources can be bought with a school licence:
- Up to 10 teachers: up to ten teachers at one school campus may use the resource as described above.
- Whole school: all teaching and support staff at one school campus may use the resource as described above.
With a school licence, the resource may be saved on your school’s private, password-protected staff drive, as long as only the licensed staff can access it. If staff change, new staff at the same campus may use it, as long as the total number stays within your licence. A school licence does not cover other campuses, other schools or a whole network or system of schools. For larger licences, please email me.
Free resources
Free resources follow the individual licence above. If a colleague would like a copy, please send them the link to my website rather than the file, so they can download their own. It also helps me keep my resources free.
What is not allowed
Unless you have my written permission, you may not:
- share, email or give the files to other teachers, colleagues or schools (please send them the link instead, or consider a school licence)
- save the files on a shared school drive, staff portal or intranet without a school licence
- upload the files to any public website, blog, social media group, file-sharing site, or resource marketplace such as Teachers Pay Teachers
- sell, resell, give away or include the resources (or any part of them) in another product, course or resource, free or paid
- remove my name, logo or copyright notice, or claim the resources as your own
- upload the resources to an artificial intelligence tool to train it, or to create new resources from them for sharing or selling
You are very welcome to share photos of my resources being used in your classroom on social media. I would love it if you tagged @candokidsacademy.
If these terms are not followed, your licence to use the resource ends and I may take further action to protect my work.
Buying from my website
- All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD).
- I am not registered for GST, so no GST is included in or added to my prices. Schools can request a quote or invoice by emailing me.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe (card payments) and PayPal. I never see or store your full card details.
- Your files are available to download straight after payment from My Account. You need to be 18 or over to place an order.
- When I update a resource (for example to correct an error or add pages), you can download the updated version from your account at no extra cost.
Refunds
Because my resources are digital files that are available to keep straight away, I don’t offer refunds if you simply change your mind or choose the wrong resource. If you accidentally buy the same resource twice, please email me and I will happily sort it out.
If a file is faulty, won’t download or open, or isn’t as described, please email me. I will fix it, replace it or give you a refund.
Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. My products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Accuracy and liability
I take great care to make sure my resources are accurate, and I correct any errors I find. If you spot one, please let me know. My resources are general teaching materials, and it is up to you to decide whether they suit your students and your setting.
To the extent allowed by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), I am not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or my resources. Where the law allows me to limit my liability, my liability is limited to supplying the resource again or refunding the price you paid.
Other websites and names
My website may link to other websites, such as book retailers or social media. I don’t control those websites and I’m not responsible for their content.
I sometimes mention other literacy programs, books, authors and publishers to show how my resources can be used alongside them. These names belong to their owners. Unless I say so, I am not connected with, sponsored by or endorsed by them.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time, for example when I add a new type of licence. The version shown on this page when you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
