Just Breathe: < spire >


Diving in deeper with the base <spire>, we can investigate analytic and synthetic word sums, replacing the single, final, non-syllabic <e> suffix convention, and free vs bound bases.

We can look closely, too, at the <-ion> suffix. Why is it <-ion> and not <-tion>? Remember, graphemes do not cross morphemic boundaries. And why do we spell ‘inspiration’ with <ir> and not <er>?
